Thanks, Mike! This is my neighbor's driveway. I took my camera with me when I went to get the mail.

Have a good day!

Excellent, Dick. The copmposition is perfect and the red make the photo alive against the cool winter colours. Awesome work, my friend. Thanks for the recent visits. Stay warm...Lawrence.

Dick you have captured a beautiful winter scene. I have stared at this image for about ten minutes and I also downloaded it and played with color balance and selective contrast and did not come up with anything as good as this. So I must offer my congratulations, like the others, on a fine shot. And then I asked myself why did I download and play with it - did I feel something could be improved and to be honest, I am not quite sure. Was it that I wanted additional mid-tone contrast? Or did I want an orange beam of light shining through the tress against the blue snow? When I have a better defined analysis, I will let you know. In the meantime, let me take in this shot again and appreciate it like a fine wine - a Beaujolais or a Melipal Malbec Reserva 2004 from Argentina. Best regards,

Thank you, Tony! I like the wine idea...I find it really helps when you're working on these images:-)

I had my camera with me when I went to get my mail. My box is across the road from this driveway which belongs to my neighbor. When I saw the wreath with the red bow I thought of how this could look. But, it was very overcast and late in the day, so I cranked the iso up and braced myself for a very slow shot...and got lucky. I didn't have my tripod with me.

In PP I desaturated the blue a bit and added some contrast. I think I also increased the exposure slightly which helps bring out the snow details. I think it would be fun to convert this to black and white, except for the bow, which should stay red. I can't do this in Aperture 2.1.

Best regards,

Dick

Dick....

Here's a preview of a B/W as described. As with all mutilations to photos by others; if you don't like it I'll make it go away :-).... Mike
