The idea is a good one. Prior to applying the effect, you might eliminate the stripes in the background, which don't seem to contribute to your picture, and clear up your model's skin, even to plasticity, by any of a variety of methods. If she's wearing a Santa cap, it will read better if the peak is turned to the camera so its pompom shows. The wintry colors are well-chosen and in keeping with your theme.
