celasun 0 Posted December 8, 2008 Beautiful & orderly with relaxing colors and composition. I wonder if cropping the roof would make this more "graphical". I am not so sure, however, if that makes the photo better. Regards, Link to comment
korovev 0 Posted December 9, 2008 what were you waiting for, before sharing this one? Probably this is a crop itself (if not it's even more valuable) but it's like a virgin playing field for creative cropping: I like very much that strip of sea in the bottm left corner, but it's interesting to see it cropped out, as well as the roof. That blue door looks alive! Great composition, thank-you for sharing! P.S. I attach two of my cropping exercises, just for fun... Link to comment
marcogarrone 0 Posted December 9, 2008 Bulent thanks for your words. As far as cropping is concerned I was visually attracted by the zigzag pattern made by the stony wall and I actually prefer to keep it that way. Obviosuly, croppin the roof as my friend Marco did (see above) gives a sharper abstract feeling to it. Marco when I say I'm a lazy bloke I mean it! thank you for the appreciation. To my eternal shame I did not even remember having shot this photo until I browsed through that summer's pictures. I can proudly state that the picture in uncropped except for balancing the horizon, which, as it happens often with me, was a bit slanted. Much as I trust all your suggestions I find that leaving the wall with its zigzag pattern lends a bit more movement to the image. I can see however how your cropping gives a more empty-spaced feeling, and this is very consistent with your style! guess I'll keep both the original and the cropped versions.. Link to comment
