The "symmetry" is very well observed!... The perfect moment!... And yes I love the photo nudity!... You see the trails?... I will go that way... Very good!... Best regards.

José, thank you! I am glad that you like it - the symmetry was barely visible, I hoped that the clouds motion will fit, and it came out nicely. Long exposure is always an adventure ;-)

Wonderful long exposure. A surreal atmosphere. How long was this with Velvia 50 ? I am looking forward to see more shots with 6x9 and ND1000x.

Peter, thank you ! I guess, it was about 1 to 2 minutes exposure f:8 (with grad ND and 1000x ND), I dont remember exactly. The drawback of film, exp data are lost...

Not as dramatic looking as your "Spiekeroog" version but interesting nonetheless. Your use of the ND filter leaves the foreground untouched by the longish exposure but has a very real effect on the sky area, particularly on the left leading edge of the cloud bank. It would fall closer to the snapshot category without the feathered look of those clouds. Until now I couldn't envision why anyone would need a ND filter of that density but I realize it's the only way to get really long exposures in broad daylight. Thanks for the free lesson. Your more or less centered horizon serves as a compromise to illustrate both interesting foreground and sky area details. You've shown us again how to make lemonade from (what many would consider) a lemon. Best, LM.

Len, thanks for your thoughts ! Yes, it was quite a lemon - at the end of an early morning shooting the light was already boring, but I had another shot on my roll... You never know how these long exposure cloudscapes come out, but I hoped for a nice array of lines
