always a depressing subject: the "roadkill". but it is a valuable documentary undertaking, one of the duties of a good photographer IMO: to capture the poignant along with the profound, the prosaic, and the pretty. here you've done a very good job presenting the unceremonious trodding out of beautiful animals in our smug paving and manipulation of the world. graceful even in death, the mute swan metaphorically suggests the fragility that too often becomes the flotsam of the modern world. bravo.

R Christopher, you read and so poetically expressed the message of this image. I deeply appreciate your time to express your thoughts with such eloquent words!

Great and poignant message, Antoni. It points out the fragility of life. It shows also your sensitivity and that is lacking in the world. Antoni may I take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe festive season and a happy and safe new year. A big hug my friend, Dimitris.

Death is not beautiful, it is sad and a taboo for most photographers.

Bravo, for having the nerve to shot and share this image!

Don't expect comments and ratings, most will not dare express their emotions. I am too old to care what others say about me... So here you go:

This magnificent creature of our land does not belong on cement or asphalt. It had no business here. So it was done for good.

The overwhelming space the road and sidewalk takes in your composition tells all whats important in our towns.

Farewell unknown friend. You tried to survive in a foreign world and this is the outcome...

Antoni, thank you for the shock and the feeling this documentary photo created.

A rare moment!

Dimitri,

fragile life is, much more than we realize, our sensitivity not close to where it needs to be... we ignore the signs... here is one, they called for clean up in a hurry... too sad, we shouldn't let the children see it... they will be upset, they said...
