Guest Guest Posted December 4, 2008 Thoughtful perspective and great lighting on this decaying building. Each part of the geometry seems to have its own character so you're actually telling a story of this structure as a group of interconnected parts yielding the whole. Very good exposure and strong post processing. Link to comment

timzeipekis 5 Posted December 5, 2008 A B&W version of a previous post, love to hear any comments. Color version in my "New Stuff" folder. Thanks! Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted December 5, 2008 Tim... Wonderful collection of shapes, patterns and tones. The washed sky works well here and adds to the stark atmosphere... Good shot! Mike Link to comment
aginbyte 0 Posted December 6, 2008 ... normally it bothers me, but here it adds to the graphic nature of the shapes and the shot as a whole. This is really nice work, and it is great to see the development of your work. Congratulations. Link to comment
ryourth 0 Posted December 6, 2008 Previously rated your colour version & flipping back & forth can't decide which image I like better, they are both excellent images. The B&W has a more stark appearance creating a forbidding feeling in this viewer. Agree with Mike about the sky. Curious how you obtained the white sky when the sky in the colou version is quite dark.Best Regards-Ross Link to comment
timzeipekis 5 Posted December 6, 2008 Michael - Thanks so much, the cloudy sky in the color version really didn't fit the mood I wanted in this version, so I'm glad you agree with me. Dennis - Thanks, for visiting my port today. It really means a lot to me. I've learned so much from so many people on PN in these last two years. I'm excited about how far I've come and about how much farther I can go. Ross - I tried to make two completely different interpretations of the same scene, so comparing them based on color/b&w alone might prove difficult. As for the white sky, the color version is actually a composite of three bracketed images, so the sky was recorded with detail. I chose a single frame for the B&W conversion and selected one with the sky more washed out. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted December 7, 2008 The stark treatment is a delight. Every texture is magnified and celebrated. The blank sky is the only place in the photo where I can catch my breath. Link to comment

celasun 0 Posted December 7, 2008 I feel like a child, looking at this photo. It might have something to do with the shooting angle, perhaps... The structure is a castle. There seems to be no easy entry. I am afraid of something but I continue to keep my profile high. I want to go back but -for some reason- I have to enter it... Will I? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 7, 2008 The lack of sky, leaves all the stage for the texture of the different parts of this constraction, The different diagonal/horizontal lines vs, the upright ones, the light and shadows, the flow of the form and angle you have cropped it, creates a very strong photographic saying. Great execition in B/W. Link to comment
ingermargrete 0 Posted December 11, 2008 The details are really great. Also a nice composition and tones. Link to comment
