pnital 36 Posted December 2, 2008 I upload the B/W version as well, as I like both. The colored IS the surrounding Thanks for your impressions and points of view. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted December 2, 2008 Hey Pnina, I'm finally the first....... I see you are shooting through glass again.....Guess you were in a Mall......I prefer the color version the best.......Lady, you sure see photographs where no-one else would.......Way to go ......Jim Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted December 2, 2008 i like both images. graphically, i think i prefer the black and white, but artistically, i prefer the color. it reminds me of many of your dance images. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 3, 2008 Jim, It was in the street... Thanks my friend, I appreciate your nice feedback. Maurizio, as any thing in life there are the pro and against..... Linda, thanks for commenting on the two of them, interesting your analogy to my dance photos...;-)) Link to comment
teresa.zafon 0 Posted December 3, 2008 Both are very good but I find the B&W version more powerful. A very good conversion of this great shot. I love it!. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted December 3, 2008 I like both, Pnina, but prefer the B&W: stronger impact, less distracting. Link to comment
bob_belanger 1 Posted December 3, 2008 Wow, so much visual noise, it seems disturbing. However the B&W is not as loud. Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted December 4, 2008 I'm very fond of both the black and white and the color. It really surprised me, as I expected to not like the black and white after being introduced to the color version first. I love the typical American icons and the whirlwind nature of the image. I guess that's American too. flying high, gulping fat, and moving fast. You caught it. Link to comment
Funtak 0 Posted December 4, 2008 Although I prefer your exquisite theatrical photos this one is very good. In fact you have that ability to present the street life as a theatre scene.. Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted December 4, 2008 I will side with the colour version, I like the way only two colours are present. The eye is drawn to small yet fascinating details like the hand (bottom left) by the brightest red in the frame. I get the feeling this is an image which really needs to be seen large to understand the complexities of the composition but I find the disparate elements compelling and it holds my attention well. rarmstrong 0 Posted December 4, 2008 A very interesting photographic collage, Pnina! I like the both color and black and white, although they have a different feel. You have a very sharp, perceptive eye for interesting composition. Best regards, Dick Link to comment
daily_photograph 0 Posted December 4, 2008 I like colours - yet the b&w version is better than I expected. Tension by different elements ... Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted December 4, 2008 I see American culture in a capsule,Pinna. Both the versions are equally good and evocative. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 5, 2008 Teresa, Paula and Bob, thanks for writing your preferences , I mayself liked both, and I agrre that B/W is "calmer".... Dave, thanks " I guess that's American too. Flying high, gulping fat, and moving fast. You caught it." Part of my impresions...Yes....;-)) Vladimir, thanks for a nice analogy... Street IS a life theatre....;-)) Simon, nice expression of your impression,I think that most of the time looking at a photo in the larger size,is always getting a better impression of details. Thanks for visiting and liking both versions.. Richard, Thanks as well for stopping by, and your feedback on both. Daily and Amal, Yes both are part of my impression in a " capsule" thanks for liking both versions . Link to comment
maggies 0 Posted December 5, 2008 Hi Pnina...Two interesting images...I prefer the B&W image..it seems to have more impact on my brain!...Marjorie Link to comment
hiroya 0 Posted December 5, 2008 Color or B&W? It's a permanent question and maybe just a question of which one you yourself like more than another. One thing I can surely say is that your B&W version has no lack and it fires my imagination more than your color version does. Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted December 5, 2008 I vastly prefer the color version. Although the B&W has obvious merit in its own right, it does not come close to telling the story the color version tells so effectively. What an amazing commentary on our fast-food, consumer driven culture. Shabbat Shalom . . . michael Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted December 5, 2008 A microcosm of an American lifestyle...and the red hand perhaps is saying, "Stop this madness". Excellent idea and execution, Pnina! OH, and I love both versions, but I'd give a slight edge to the color version. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted December 5, 2008 The silhouette amidst this natural collage really throws our expectations out the window. I like pictures that do that. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 7, 2008 Marjorie, Hiroya, Michael, and Christal, thanks for writing your preferences and point of view, always helpful! Jack, always a well worded comment ;-))Thanks Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted December 8, 2008 These two recent uploads involving reflection on glass are a study in opposites. This one seems from a frantic world were the improbable is the common place. The other one from Cape Cod is outside looking in, this one appears to be inside looking out. I do not have a preference as regards B&W or colour they both work for different reason. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks , you are right. "This one seems from a frantic world were the improbable is the common place. " Passing some places in NY, like time square, this is the right impression, a " Merry go round" of lights and changing forms, people and movements, that does not stop for a moment.....
