Moon with Venus & Jupiter

This capture is not about aesthetics or originality. It is historical. There will not be another time to view the moon with Venus and Jupiter like this for the next 52 years.

I took this tonight to capture the event, not to create an aesthetic, original image.

The experts say this view of the moon, venus, and jupiter won't occur again for 52

years.

I haven't had much night photography experience. I had the camera on a tripod and

did what I could. I assume the orb in the lower right is a reflection of the moon. It's

interesting that Venus and Jupiter appear in motion - that's probably because they,

like Earth, are orbiting the sun. My speculation about the moon being sharp is that it

is orbiting the earth.

Which is Venus and which Jupiter?

I invite your comments.

I guess the moon is in synchrony with the earth and moves in slower relative motion in the ecliptic. And the solar planets do not move in synchrony with the earth. I guess you may have the right clue to the motion thing. Unless you were using a polar mount... These conjunctions are fascinating. And suppose to, Larry, be iimportant omens to ancient races..Who know,.could mean the recession has reached its bottom:-) Be well, gs
