I have been intending to capture that red bush for three years now, and I have finally done so. What stands out for me, however, in all of this melange of color is the humble pine in its quiet dignity, always constant, always there, always upright--nothing showy, not typically thought of as being beautiful, just a good solid tree that is the same for all seasons, regardless of what Nature may throw at it.

Therefore I say, "Long live the pine!" Perhaps I shall make that my personal motto from now on, for it speaks to the lesson and message of humility: quiet dignity, reliability, and steadfastness.amidst the storms of life.

Everything else that grows in these parts may come and go. The humble native pine will always be there.

I will rename the picture accordingly. Yes, the picture was made of "the woods across the street," but it could have been made just about anywhere.

Flashy beauty may come and go. Character endures. Indeed, it may not be too strong to say that endurance is character.

Thanks, Bert and Pnina.

Pnina, you are far too kind about the biopic. I think that I should upload a smaller version so that no one can see me up close.

Most of all, Pnina, I wish you peace for the coming year, and for many years to come.

You are not judging right about your bio pic...;-))

Thanks for your wishes, it is so hard to know that we still have to fight for our right to live in peace, and need to fight the cruel terror around us. It is now nearly million people living under missiles and rockets, some of them for 8 years....our right to self deffence has come, but it is not easy.
