gsphotoguy 3 Posted December 20, 2008 I realize that this style of photograph will not be everyone's cup of tea. I attended a glamour/nudes workshop where a group of photographers worked with a group of models. At the end we could book on-on-one sessions with the models. This one, Pamela, expressed interest in working on some images that were more abstract then the usual ones at these workshops. This is one example. Lighting was from a ring of hot lights and the shallow depth-of-field is on purpose. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted December 20, 2008 I think it is a great idea and could be better with a small breasted girl. Link to comment
GerrySiegel 868 Posted December 20, 2008 Frankly a bit clinical and sort of flat, but not flat in size. I can't say what you were seeking to show, so it is hard to evaluate it as shown. It lacks any sense of light direction is what I guess I am saying. Thus appears like an X ray film. If that is the intent it was achieved. My reactions are based on my latest breakfast cereal :-) so don't mind my quizzical approach. Good luck in your experiments, of course. gs Link to comment
gsphotoguy 3 Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks for the comments. I will be participating in a lighting workshop soon and will work on images like this again hopefully, with a variety of models. Link to comment
myattphotoandfotoart39 1 Posted December 21, 2008 Mark, Thank you for replying about my comment on Right Profile. . This morning (you are sleeping) I went through your gallery and Autumn would be the kind I was thinking on as being in my mind to be better. Link to comment
sanjalica 0 Posted December 26, 2008 Thanks Mark. If I can advice You, for You next shoot, make very narrow source of light through softbox, just for 2-3cm. The light source should be also very narrow. Cant wait to se the results. Ines Link to comment
ohisama 0 Posted January 7, 2009 I also had an X-ray impression when I first saw it. I agree with Ines that a softbox might be a good idea, though I would place it as a background and, with use of it, inverse back with white. It's an easiest way to get profiles. :-) And the same breast framed with another body part (a hand, a leg?) and softbox edges might look interesting. You can also try to use a very narrow light that a truncated cone put on a flash would give. This light would probably give high contrast and highlight details, including skin's texture. Good luck with the next workshop! Link to comment
