Yes you have captured it. the faces and the pose say everything. Compositionally I suggest you change it into a horizontal image by cropping above the woman's head and under the little girls hand. All that extra space above them does nothing to tell the story.

Excellent idea! I didn't even think of doing that as I was so focused on the interaction between them. I'm going to take your advice and crop as you suggested. Thanks so much for looking and giving me this wonderful suggestion.
