It seems you've been thinking along the same lines as me lately with this one. I shot a very similar one a week or so ago. The difference that I see, is that you managed to capture some subtle "gesture" with the transition theme. Nice work! I also like the bright sunshine highlights in the snow.

Looks like you've had some success yourself. Be over to see you soon. Without the old leaves I'd have to retitle this one 'Snow & Trees'. How bland would that be? Thanks for popping by. Always good to hear from you. Best, LM

Its challenging to get a decent shot in the wood, this is definitively a winner. First, the "rhythm" is perfect. Second, contrast of strong and subdued color is very nice. Hats off !

Your comments\critiques are always welcomed. Funny how one's more successful shots are unplanned, chance encounters as it were. I took this one with a P&S in a nearby woodlot, waiting, while my wife & daughter inspected some homes in a new subdivision. I liked the contrast between the early new fallen snow & the leaves that had yet to fall. Best, LM.

Long time....It is a very nice forest image. it looks a B/W in general ,as winter mood is, but there is still colors peeping here and there, like saying.... the spring will bring us back... Well composed Len

Thanks for the visit & comments. The splash of colour in this mostly monotone scene was the real attraction. I tried a B&W conversion but this is one time that I felt it didn't do the scene justice. Have a merry Christmas even if you don't celebrate it & I'll make a point of thinking of you on Dec 22. Best, LM.

Thanks for stopping by with your thoughts. Looks like you have an abundance of material for us to check out as well. Will pop by for coffee & donuts in the near future. (well, virtually speaking anyway) Best, LM.

Strong bold graphic qualities abound in this image. I wouldn't change a thing. Well seen, captured, and processed. Happy Holidays to You and Yours! Cheers! Chris

Thanks for your input. Can I send you some of this snow to help you celebrate Christmas? Not the same without some you know & we have plenty. (some 75F temperatures in return would be accepable) Merry Christmas from central Ontario. Best, LM.

Your photo makes me relax... I do feel better looking at it. I even imagine myself being there and taking the photo! This might well be due to our lack of any trace of snow around here... I agree, by the way, that color is a must for this one...

Wish you a merry Christmas...

And a Merry Christmas to you too. Glad this one impressed you and would gladly send you some fresh white snow (we're in the middle of a snowstorm at this time of writing) but shipping costs these days.........................! :-) Will try to send some virtual snow from time to time.

Yes, the colour is essential in this shot. Not as much impact without it. Looking forward to exchanging comments\critiques in 2009. Keep well. Best, LM.

Aren't we all? :-) You are right, we don't have to like winter but we can at least make the most of it. Some nice photos are out there just waiting to be made. Thanks for dropping by. Best, LM.
