And suddenly, winter. BW version

I turned to B/W one of my recent landscape, as I think it works even

better than in colours. This is the Cervino (known as Matterhorn outside

Italy) as seen from the Lago Bleu near to Breuil in Valle d'Aosta, Italy.

This picture was taken at sunset a couple of weeks ago, after five days

of snowfalls.

Its the lower half of the image in particular, the texture, its like no shot I have seen. I looks like thick frost on a window pane. Its a mgic shot Paolo in both colour and B&W.

Dave, the texture on the lake surface is indeed very unusual. Usually the surface of a frozen lake is smooth, very smooth. One possible reason that could explain that strange texture is that the lake was not completely frozen when the snowfall began.

Gives impression that it is just a scale model or stage at theatre.

Love the mountains in the background and the sense of scale and climate the frozen pond gives you in the foreground.  The movement the moving clouds give are an added bonus.  Nice image!
