Semicircle and Shadows

I like this picture very much but why that is so, it's hard to put into words. It has a peculiar sense of order not so much due to the place or subject matter itself but how it has been seen. This is photography where the ordinary is transformed by the sharp eye of the photographer. First there is recognition (a sense of the inherent possibilities) then judgement (the particular perspective and angle chosen by the photographer in respone to his own internal sense of balance and composition). Here the result is cleanly eloquent.
