stephen bushoven 0 Posted May 1, 2009 depth of field and composition i think are perfect and the light on the model is well done. however to my eyes the intense red bricks draw my attention away from the model. possibly decreasing the saturation to that area could improve the photo. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 1, 2009 Melissa, Pretty girl (although I would like to see her hair down more on her forehead - swept up hair in front does nothing for her) - Sharp focus on her eyes - Good catch lights - Good eye contact with the camera (viewer) - Nice expression (actually a very interesting expression - this isn't shot in Denmark is it?) - Nice make-up on her face and toenails (No female that is that meticulous about her face and toes would ever be seen without her fingernails done!) You have a lot of wasted space around her, I would move in (that pillar looking thing on her left is extremely ugly and not at all photogenic) - The red brick, top blue step and her jeans are too intense (you lose your girl) - Her arms, hands and feet are too light (You have lost texture in them) - Her left elbow has been cut into by that big ugly out of focus pillar thing (you should move her arm a little or move your position - Speaking of big ugly thing: You should never have something large in front of your subject that is out of focus (the viewer will be lost in the blur before they ever get to the subject -- behind your subject is fine). You are showing the flat side of her right hand (the edge of the hand is more slimming to the hand, more graceful looking and more feminine) - Turn her right foot a bit so that her toes are pointing more foreword (the position she now has her foot in looks awkward). Your name or business name is not part of the photograph. It should be on the mat. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
