Very well conceived and executed shot. Admittedly, I would not have any suspicion about the shadow without your opening description. I am quite impressed with the textures you created.

The textures were added using the "iEmboss" filter from Redfield. As you can see, I also did some straightening and perspective correction as well.

Otherwise just the usual Levels, Contrast and Sharpness adjustments.
