Raymond, you have a good pose here, and your lighting is really pretty good. Your choice of short light is apparent because the shadow side of the face is towards the camera; it is hard to go wrong with short light.

However, the contrast is not so good. You have an image that is too dark and has too little contrast. The lighting is too far away from your model, and that makes the light harder because its relative size is smaller the farther away it is.

What I did was to brighten and added more contrast. I then copied the whole image and added the copy as a layer. I then threw the layer out of focus with the Gaussian blur filter, and dodged the deepest shadows. I then erased the blurry eyes to reveal the sharp eyes underneath. Then with the Layer Style control, I reduced the opacity to 40%, letting the sharp image peak out just beyond the blurry one giving it a soft focus appearance.

A high key image should never have a black border. It should always be a light tone. I changed the edge treatment to a lighter tone.

If you don't find my suggestions helpful, then please send me an email and I will be happy to delete them for you.
