massa 0 Posted November 20, 2008 Very good portrait. I like the pose of model. Perfect background and dof. Good work. Congrats Link to comment
steve_lowther 0 Posted November 21, 2008 I think you have all the basic elements down for a good portrait. Pose is fine, although it is not usually very flattering for the model to have her hair pulled back out of sight of the camera. The contrast is a bit flat. I increased the contrast and dodged her eyes and teeth to give them a bit more "pop". I dodged and blurred the dark crescents under her eyes. The crop should be a bit tighter. There is quite a bit of wasted space that doesn't have anything interesting going on in it. Unlike many portraits we see on photo.net, you have the key right on. I just wanted to enhance the key, so using the Elliptical Marquee Selection tool feathered at 60 pixels, I selected an oval and then selected the inverse. I used the Brightness/Contrast control to darken outside of the oval. I copied the entire image and blurred it. I then selected Layer>Layer Style and reduced the opacity to about 30%. I then selected the eraser tool and erased her eyes on the blurred layer to leave everything except her eyes in soft focus. I then flattened the image. I also added an edge treatment. If you don't find my suggestions helpful, then please send me an email and I will be happy to delete them for you. Link to comment

ramz1 0 Posted November 23, 2008 Hello George... beautiful portrait of Dani. I like the open space in yours which gives a nice balance... and the overall feel of this portrait has a natural, soft appeal to it with a beautiful earthy tone. Nice work Link to comment
