tonmestrom 4 Posted November 18, 2008 Man you work in some hard light. Here you did a good job and it works, partly due to your subject. Like the subtle cool tone and your composition. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted November 18, 2008 I have to say that this is truly one of your best black and white photographs in quite some time - and that is the dyed-in-the-wool gospel truth! The juxtaposition of light and dark, and the opposing curved faces of the two boulders creates a once-in-a-lifetime composition. Your post-processing has created a superb range of tones; and the brightly-lit boulder pile in the background just pulls the eye in. This is a photograph that evokes the style of Ansel Adams. Excellent work, Leo! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Alright, I'm out of insightful comments this evening. Let's just say I love this and the sky is the best part (except for everything else :-P ). I might clone away the intruding few tufts along the bottom edge (just the one clump which breaks into the shadowed area). Link to comment

deb1 0 Posted November 19, 2008 Leo The shadow in the foreground is like a stepping stone to the illuminated rock in the background. Wonderful pov and framing. The richness of the black and white tones are perfect. Wow! deb Link to comment
leo burkey 0 Posted November 22, 2008 This is best viewed larger. This was taken in Joshua Tree NationalPark which is full of these giant boulders. Link to comment
