On the shores of the lake the last fishermen' boats are waiting for the new work day.

Thanx for c&c and rating

Thank-you all, my friends for your helpful contributions. I post a version in which I try to catch GP's critique and stand waiting for a response.

Mauro... With all respects to Giuseppe, I like the original image much better. It captures the evening mood and looks more like what we would see if there... an excellent image either way... Mike

First of alla thanx to both of you for your appreciation; secondly I prefer the first one too, but it could be due to the fact that in my attempt to make the right side lighter I altered the whole image and this is due to the fact that "philosophically" I prefer to use Apple Aperture controls that affect the whole image rather than PS to make slective adjustment that, in my opinion, transform the category in a "digital alteration" (and I don't love DA).

Tomorrow or the day after I will try, anyway, a new correction with PS to verify Giuseppe's advice and to test my "philosophy".

Thank-you very much again.

Very dramatic I love the light as is. It has its mystery a silent night. Thanks for sharing. Regards ifti

I love the subtle tones and the simple composition, and I prefer the original: More of a spirit of the night..

Preferisco la versione che hai postato per i commenti, immagine molto suggestiva, con una certa atmosfera tra il romantico e il malinconico. Ciao.

A nice, moody shot, Mauro. The darker version works well for me. As a suggestion for improvement (or rather an alternative), I would try to make the exposure longer to smooth the water. You would have a contrast between the sharp and smooth, in addition to light/dark, warm/cold tones.
