ifti 1 Posted November 22, 2008 A very different and interesting way to look at fall both of the trees and the old contraption. Composition is very good with nice color and texture of the wood to boot. Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted December 1, 2008 Sheryl, I came across a pair of old see-saws at an abandoned mill several years ago. I once posted the picture of them, but, alas, the picture did not capture the mood that yours has. I also like your philosophizing. I have been reflecting just moments ago about the "lowly" pine tree standing tall but unnoticed amidst all the autumn splendor. The things--and people--that are constant are the things that we remember. Here's to the humble see-saw--out here rusting in the rain, but still waiting for the children to come back down the hill next spring, though they have long since grown up and perhaps even passed away. --Lannie Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted December 3, 2008 I often feel that the number of American children that would recognize what this is, much less have experienced one, is shamelessly dwindling to oblivion. I see this and imagine the days gone by that it effected great smiles and laughter from those seated upon it. The long forgotten smiles of children grown and have their own children full of smiles waiting to come forth. This lowly playground devise helped to build friendships, cooperation, and much excitement as one lost their "tummy" with each descent and then the joy of watching your partner lose theirs. Nice image, Sheryl, well seen, and full of memories. Happy Holidays, ~Sky Link to comment
