aeg 0 Posted February 22, 2009 I really like this image and presentation. The tattered edges and framing seem to go with the composition which I find compelling. I like the use of the curved wall as a leading line element that brings the eye to the gateway to the castle. The color, detail and texture help to keep me in the image longer . The red element on the wall captured my eye immediately and is a key component to the compositions flow. I think if it were brighter or bolder red it would have dominated the composition. All the best Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted March 2, 2009 Thankyou Anthony, I actually was worried that the (reddish/orange) color was a bit too much already...but at the time I composed it, did not know a lot about layers...yet everytime I thought of doing it over, I somehow preferred it. There were quite a few battles at this site.....yet this was a cover page for a Book for my Grandchildren(ages 5 & 7)...they were too busy 'thinking Pirates' to worry about the color. Tnks for your kind compliments...Gail Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted May 27, 2009 Very good image and very happy that it made the book cover for your grand kids. I hope it was used like your dad did with you re bed-time stories. I had not visited your images recently and there is some mind blowing stuff here. Keep up the great work and get some sleep. for me it is a 7/7. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted May 27, 2009 Yes,,,,,sleep....and 'Menopausal Moments'......Insomnia is alas one of those unfortunate symptons....so for what I lack during the wee hours...I sleep in ..... then sometimes take a few Power Naps during the day....but when I do 'sleep' it is a very 'deep sleep', whereas in my former years...I was a very light sleeper....awake hourly....causes a somewhat 'funny - yet odd' reaction in me...I can go from awake....to nodding off and into Dream State within minutes....forget all that REM stuff....Whirrrreddd!!! So along with my Alpa Lapoic, Lino Laeic(SP) Omegas, antioxidents etc....I truly do try to take care of myself as best I can with what I have to deal with at this wonderful 'temperature in life'.........!!(Thankyou for your advice and concern as Sleep at our ages is so very important) Yes this image is on the cover of the 'Book' as are the grandchildren in a Sub Title(Cover Page)...I have them dressed in Princess and Pirate Gear...should post it just for the "halibut" as I used some Photoshop Elements Clothing for them..but they thought it was great. The Book is Titled "Way TOO Mysterious Island". tnks again for your time and critique....always appreciative, Gail Link to comment
