Well exposed, well lit, well posed! Since you centered the pair symmetrically it is what is called a formal composition, usually reserved for wedding parties, churches, etc. Since you had the man look to picture left it relieves some of that formality, but I think the additional movement of the pair to the right would make compositional sense. Since you have a pure black background you can easily manufacture more of it and give it a try. Another way of saying it, is he is looking sharply to one side - give him more background space on that side. It would also give us a sense that the photographer took more responsibility if he named his works.
