steve_garrigues 0 Posted June 17, 2002 A lone tree on the sweltering red plains of Chihuahua shelters three white stones. What could I do better? What don't you like? Any honest critique is most welcome. Link to comment
jonathan_slayton 0 Posted June 17, 2002 I really like this one. it's one of my most favorite pictures i've seen on photo.net. you may want to try a split ND filter to darken the sky, a polarizer, and a super saturated slide film if you didn't. Link to comment
steven_schmiedeskamp 0 Posted June 18, 2002 I'm a big sucker for clouds, so I really like this picture. Also, I love the rest of this picture like, of coarse, the red field and the great tree which brings the whole picture together. once again awesome picture and keep up the good work. Link to comment
george andreou 0 Posted June 18, 2002 I like this picture. However, I think it can do with a bit more of the red ground and I think you should have waited for more blue to appear in the sky. The contrast between red (rock), green (vegetation) and blue (sky) is what makes pictures like this really speacial. More blue would also have meant less white (clouds) which appear bleached here, (though it may be due to the scan). The picture is a bit too contrasty. Link to comment
rick vincent 1 Posted June 19, 2002 Good clouds. I don't think this is one of those kind of pictures that is meant to be hugely original. However, I do like the aesthetics. I wish the tree were lit better and I think better detail in the beautiful red earth would be helpful. Good composition. Link to comment
arthur_artist 0 Posted June 19, 2002 Do not listen to anybody. This is a beutyful work - very simple - very easy... and a lot of air, what makes the picture dramatic. The colour is balanced quite well. I am not an photographer, but I am an artist- painter, and I know about colours and composition. Well done ! Artist. Link to comment
cesar_gamez1 0 Posted June 22, 2002 Hey, nice picture, I enjoy it. I think you should try to bring more attention to the tree (and not the clouds) by cropping out the top and leaving the bottom as a square image (It won't kill the vastness feeling, you can try it instantly with your hand on the monitor). Regards, Cesar. Link to comment
ricardojmendez 0 Posted June 28, 2002 Great eye! It's so devoid of anything but the tree that it almost seems like it was painted that way. Link to comment
sphoto 0 Posted July 9, 2002 for me I would like to see the image much wider, a full width on each side. it would add to the expansiveness of the red terrain, while highlighting the solitary nature of the tree's existence. It might also add more blue sky too! great photograph, wish I could see a higher res or print! :) Link to comment
