The slow shutter and backlighting soften the portrait and lend a wonderful gentle glow to what looks like an already warm and gentle disposition. Your techniques are very successful here in adding emotion and complexity. The area behind the women's left shoulder looks so sensual and dreamy, I love how the hat, the women and the window all meld into one.

Daily thanks, I worked hard on this one....

Gord, it was quite busy around because it was taken in a restaurant with a lot of lights around.... I invested a lot of work in post processing it, to fit it to my taste. Thanks for liking it, I find her a beauty, and I like the result of the light.

Jose, thanks!

Dave, my friend, thanks as well I hope you feel better, I will answer soon.

Bob, so good to talk to you after our face to face meeting! I like the second one as well and will upload it ,not as an attacement.....

Thanks Joe, how is your class developing?

Very appealing. I like the wash of light from the right rear. The softness and...imperfection, if you will...add to the image. I like it.

I like the way you exposed this image Pnina. You've captured the motion, light, and witch perfectly. Nice work.

All the best,

Neil

... the backlight and hat are so theatrical but the portrait itself is intimate, a beguiling combination. Well done.

Jeff, I don't use flash nearly ever( sometime I do as fill flash). Thanks for liking the result.

Amal and Laurent, I very much appreciate your feedback.

Tim, I liked the imperfection, for me it has created the charm of the photo....

Neil and Adan, thanks both, Adan, I'm glad you see the elegance as well.

Vladimir, thanks for commenting.

A superb portrait expressing your sensitivity and her gentleness, the delicacy of light and focus and muted colors, the beauty of a simple expression, the effectiveness of the right chapeau, the suggestiveness of a demur pose. Extremely well done. Is this a candid or do you know her and was she aware of your camera? Doesn't really matter, just curious. It works extremely well and reminds me of the sensibility in your Vermeer folder.

Thanks, I love this one as well. It was in a restaurant, I was with my cousin, they were a group of waiters with Haloween costumes. I have asked their permission to photograph them, and they agreed wholheartedly ,but posed for all of them.... this is the only one I took when she was not aware of the camera, and the only one I really like. It seems Fred, that my camera , when it is with me, is always ready...;-)

Thanks a lot for comparing it to the series

of Vermeer, that I consider one of my best work.
