Dear Pnina, apart from a general remark that possibilities are always limited and never fully exploited - I like this shot with the sharp focus on the symbol of liberty and no restrain, and the kitchen (of change?), and a more blurred front view of daily life. Well seen.

Ideals in focus. The people are but a blur. Such is American politics. This reminds me of some of Jack's recent photos.

Great street shot - and such a commentary on the "Big City", where one can look into the world of the private diner so easily. I am looking forward to seeing more of your trip here. I am sure you felt overwhelmed by the "bigness", but I'm curious about how you interpreted life in today's USA.

Typical big city scene--a ho hum couple ... the lone diner ... a peek of a kitchen worker's head... Universal and then so New York. I like the bit of play of the woman in white and the (reflected) disjoined white legs walking away. Perhaps she's tired of him...?

I like it as much for its tone and color palette as I do for its content. The lighting could not be better if you had set it up. Great timing to have caught it as you traveled on a bus. It says so much if you let it speak to you. I'm putting this into my faves.

Glad to hear it was a good time in the USA. Wish NY wasn't such a distance, it would have been nice to visit and say howdy. Nice that you always have your camera seeing and saving your surroundings. Look forward to seeing the pictures. ~Sky

Anders, thanks for your visit and your impression, I miss your long absences.....;-))

Jeff, it remind you of Jacks photo? That IS a compliment!

Well, even though my Chicago cousin gave me an Obama pin to put on my jacket... Do you still think American politics is still blurred? I agree that elections are over ,and now rest to see the new president's function results.....

Hiroya, my friend from Japan, what a timing! I have told my PN friends, I have met in my visit in USA ,about my visit in Japan and our meeting! I will write you an email soon.

Liz, thanks, it is not my first time in the USA and NY , but it is always a challenge to photo the essentials.I hope to upload more of my impressions, in between, and after post processing the lot....;-))

Jose and Daily, thanks, Daily you are always observant to small details...;-))

Donna, the cut legs were a bonus.... I left it as is, thanks. Hope to hear from you.

Dave, thanks so much! The bas slowed a bit because of traffic , so I took 3 frames of that spot, I was ready with my camera all along the rid... Crazy me? Probably.....Thanks for adding it to your collection, I'm honored.

Sky, I know the distances in that huge continent and the limitations, still glad to " see" you here. Thanks so much.

Thanks Amal.

Bob, I photographed a lot, I will slowly post process them and will upload the more significants . I hope our meeting will be good enough, as the light was dim, but our group meeting and the atmosphere, were simply wonderful !

I see you're hanging around cafes and mining all the rewarding images that seem to manifest themselves before you and your camera. This one is a beautifully organized shot, interesting in both composition and subject matter.

I love this one Pnina -- the realities of lives lived plainly under the always unachieveable ideals of America's self-image. Plus, it speaks to America's great sense of commercialism and enterprise to use such a potent national symbol as decoration in a restaurant and have it sit unnoticed/unheaded by its patrons.

I do also like your choice of focus -- it really accentuates the message that I want to take away from this.

This is quite nicely noticed and framed for something shot from a bus!!

Thanks for your visit and comment,( glad to see you here) I totaly agree with your evaluation as it is what I felt seeing that scene, and translated my feelings to the title of the photo..

I was seating in the bus ready with my camera. The bus has stopped in this location, and I even took 3 frames of this scene....;-)) this one was the best of them.
