steve_lowther 0 Posted November 13, 2008 Your image is too dark. Typically an image should have something pure white all the way down to pure black. I simply used the Brightness/Contrast control in Photo Shop to adjust the brightness. Otherwise you have a fairly decent composition and lighting. You used a good portrait lighting technique called "short light". It is when the shadow side of the subject's face is towards the camera. It is nearly always more successful than "broad light" which has the shadow side of the face away from the camera. Not bad for a beginner!! Link to comment
scouser1953 1 Posted November 20, 2008 I am flattered that a photographer of your calibre critiqued my doll. This was submitted as a raw image without editing; and while I knew too she was too dark, I was reluctant to embrace any editing techniques.
