jongaus 0 Posted November 24, 2008 I'm puzzled by the puzzle. Is it a railing on a boat? With a life buoy? May be you have been traveling with "Hurtigruta" (the coast liner) - in a storm? Link to comment
jana 1 Posted November 25, 2008 Hello Jon, You got it ! Hurtigruten in February in a storm that was on for days, so we had to go back and could not stop at the end in Kirkenes. cheers Jana Link to comment
michaellinder 16,611 Posted November 25, 2008 Interesting photograph that very effectively conveys the feeling of being totally immersed in cold and snow. It conjures up scenes from books, movies, etc., involving people who are trapped in swirling snow. As one who has experienced this on a few occasions, I can attest to the feeling of hopelessness. My compliments . . . michael PS I really appreciate your constructive criticism on my "Flea Market" shot. I posted it as something of an experiment, and I've concluded that my intuitions were correct. It didn't work! I've therefore decided to change my approach on te photo. Tomorrow I'll be posting a revised version, under "Abstract", if you're interested. Link to comment
jongaus 0 Posted November 25, 2008 I recommend a trip with the Hurtigruta during summer, Jana, when there is 24 hour of daylight. In February you probably wouldn't see anything in Northern Norway, even if the weather was fine, since it's always dark. But I guess snowstorm in the dark can be an interesting experience. Cheers, Jon. Link to comment
