joan_s. 0 Posted November 11, 2008 I have a soft spot for this one despite the busy background. Does it work for you? Thanks for suggestions. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted November 12, 2008 Myriam, I can see why you might have a soft spot for this picture. I see a once little girl who has grown old and a lifetime of stories to tell. The busy background might have been dealt with while framing the composition - the lady is perfectly centered; had you raised the camera slightly and to the left, she would have been placed off-center bottom-right, and the pedestrians might have been completely included. Not a hard rule, but generally dead-centering of subjects will be less desired. I thought a bit of color/contrast enhancement might also help, and a B/W for comparison. Link to comment
joan_s. 0 Posted November 12, 2008 Thanks for your suggestions and feedback Michael :)! I think you're right I need to tweek the contrast a bit. The b/w comparisons are interesting as well since I rarely try it - my "thing" is colour street, because generaly colour is part of what draws me to the subject. I also find b/w less forgiving with my technical limitations. Link to comment
phc1 0 Posted November 12, 2008 I'd say you should have taken two steps to the left, two steps forward, and lowered your camera angle. Also perhaps a shorter lens. I know that's not much help now! But maybe for future reference... Link to comment
