Pink Dawn Rannoch

ian cameron

If I had a favourite wee spot on Rannoch moor this would be it. I was offering the benefit of my wisdom to another photographer when this most delicate sunrise occurred. This one tree seems to have evaded the onward march of Autumn remaining steadfastly green even though the first snows of the year have dusted the distant Blackmount. The cool blues of twilight eventually gave way to dawns pink light first staining the clouds and then painting the mountain tops. I waited for an even cloud distribution then took the shot.NEW!! Ian you have the Magic Touch with your landscapes, but I prefer your Kaleidoscope version to this one. The early moning sky is nice here but the previous version is so much more dynamic (to me). The playing of color contrasts is better in Kaleidoscope, too. If I had not seen the former I probably would have fallen in love with this. Regards.

Very nice place. super atmosphere with the ice in the grass; I like the unusual depth of the picture - maybe thanks to the tree in the middle-plan; nicely presented (Kaleidoscope is also very nice)

it's a cracking shot ian, lovely pastel colours in the sky and it's reflection. i'm making my first trip up there on the 17th of this month, hopefully i'll have similar weather conditions.
