Well, it's red. Perhaps the owner now has a McLaren badge on it! - very provocative.

I like the photo and idea, might be tempted to take a bit off the top to reduce the light area, regards

Hi my friend, I don't know why but I listen a light irony mixed to some satisfaction. Well I admit that Lewis Hamilton is really a great champion but Felipe Massa is great too. So, had I've been the owner, I would have kept the Ferrari badge for the next year. On the photographic side of the comment I think you may be right and I will try the cropping. Many thanks fir you comment.

Thank-you El for your kind words. Coming from a photographer such you are, I take them as a great compliment. As far as the 500 is concerned it wasn't my first car but the first car I drived and I hated it becasue I wasn't able to do the "doppietta" (to be clear I mean the technique you have to use to shift the gear when it isn't a synchromesh) and eachtime I had to shift awful noises came from the engine. :-)

This is a very nice composition. I especially like the crop on the right. a minor point is, while the post-processing is admirable, the shade of red is a tad too loud for the gray background. compliments -koushik

Actually I didn't touch the red tones that have been masked in PS to desaturate the rest. On the other hand, even if I work in a calibrated environment (monitor+printer) I have to admit that I notice, in the printed version, the problem you are pointing out. Hence I will try two different strategies: the first one will be to select the red tones and to lighten them a little bit, the second one will be to increase a little bit the overall brightness. Let's see the results. Thank-you very much to be so helpful (as usual, indeed!).

A presto

Hi Mauro, Massa gained a lot of respect for his after race interviews, a gentleman and a sportsman no matter how upset he was, good luck to him next season, regards

Since I reckon that your hints can improve the overall quality of the picture I tried this new version. I will like to know your opinion as well as others' ones. Thanx

This one is perfect. Instead of diminishing the brightness of the car you have increased the brightness of the rest. I think this has been a better idea. Molto meglio. ciao -koushik

Yes Mattia, you are right and this is what I love of PN: that other people can criticize your work and help you to improve and to obtain better results that alone you wouldn't be able to. Thank-you for visiting.

I found another of your older shots that I really like.... I´m a bit sold on this kind of color treatment ( can´t help it =) ).. Fantastic composition and light is great to.... A very very Nice shot...

Jill, dear Jill, I'm really happy that you like this "casual" picture. I treated it such way because the treatment was the only way to render exactly what I was seeing in that very moment. The "Ferrari" jumped to my eyes and all the surrounding scenario was dimmed.

Thank-you for visiting. Hugs

I really like the treatment you have given this photo. Composition is to my liking too because I enjoy seeing the activity and energy of the street - somehow it all ties in to the red in the car. Very well done. Thank you for sharing. :)

Trisha, welcome back! Thank-you again for you nice words. I've a question for you: do you either prefer the original post or the one I've attached to a comment following Koushik comments?

Please, I'm very eager to know your POV.

Warmest regards

Mauro

PS: I assume that Trisha is your given name. Is it?

I am sorry for the delay in answering your question; time gets away from me sometimes...

I think I prefer this one to the cropped picture although that is just for personal reasons and has more to do with my eyes than any other reason. The cropped version just puts the car right in my face and it hurts my eyes because I am in need of glasses! Yes, the dreaded age at which one's eyes start failing! :(

This is really a wonderful image; I like everything about it. One of my uncles ( Italian born, moved to U.S.) used to be the designer for Ferrari and may have even designed this car! And yes, Trisha is my given name. Thank you for sharing and your patience waiting for my response! :)
