whydangle 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Thanks Mike. Probably one of my more rewarding images from this trip. Something about the backlit cottonwoods set off by cold gray. The harsh lighting was a challenge, but it gave the yellows the snap I was looking for. I was trying for the double star, but the reflected one is quite subtle and not as noticeable. The other thing that trained my eye was the way the river flows straight to the sun. Link to comment

yttergaarden. 0 Posted November 7, 2008 This is realy a stunning landscape image - very nicely composed and colours/light are excellent. It also transmitts this late autumn mood, so i can almost smell it :-) Thanx for sharing it. Regards LKV. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Thanks Leo, David, David and Lennart. The colors in this area are not explosive like back east. In order to make them pop, some fairly direct backlighting will make them glow, but it is a tricky combination to pull off. The pine was used to deflect some of that light from going directly through the lens and also to create a star effect by stopping down the lens. I am fairly pleased with the results, but I miss the colors of the eastern states this time of year! Link to comment

paolo de faveri 1 Posted November 9, 2008 Wonderful scene, Mark, so crisp and rich of interesting details. The way how the bushes and trees on the left catch the light is just delicious. Paolo Link to comment
