This is a world class sculpture made in bronze by Gene Stotts of Palmer Alaska for a 1% for art project for the Matanuska Susitna Collage near Palmer, Alaska. The Bronze Sculpture is about 6' high and is very powerfull to behold and wonderful to view from many angles. Many close up images were taken due to the interesting abstact views that one can view within the sculpture its self. I found these of great interest to view and photograph. We are blessed with many fine artists in our state and Gene Stotts with this sculpture has placed himself amoung the best of the best.

Series reviewed as requested. This is by far your best shot. The shapes are dissimilar, but satisfyingly related, and they are of different sizes, which is important for compositional interest. The center perpendicular makes a good central focus, the foreground textures read well, and the lighting expresses the forms. The bottom lobe could be a bit sharper, but the softness doesn't put me off.

Although with the explanation you get a rough idea what this is, the photo has a unique atmospheric/mysterious feel to it and the explanation narrows everything down a bit too much. Contrary to the widely accepted idea that the artist has to be there to explain what the art is all about, to me this photo is one of those pieces that are better left unexplained. The title, in my opinion, should be enough to provide a general direction - just a thought...

 

Other than that, I absolutely love this photo. Great job!
