mike schramm 0 Posted November 1, 2008 Marc, This one is breathtaking. I like how the red leaves in the foreground lead into the aspens and conifers on the left and into the mountains in the background. It flows well. Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted November 1, 2008 Another lovely addition to your "luminist" phase. I know I've commented on that before, but it's very much apparent here (and in"Painted in Spring").In both images, is the rendering of the foreground plants with a halo-like glow intentional? I assume it must be. It's an unnatural but very beautiful effect, and for me, it's the thing that really takes the work out of the strictly photographic and into the digital painting realm. As if each leaf is backlit by its own individual, miniature sun. Very nice: how do you pull off this effect, anyway? If I have any nit to pick, it's that the painting-like quality is not matched in the background mountains and sky. They lack the same "glow", super-fine detail, and relatively low contrast. That really is a nit, though. This definitely works as art. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted November 1, 2008 I'm not sure, John. I tried to even that out a bit. It's not too apparent to me, so I appreciate your thoughts. I dodged the highlights in the bush at the LRC and trees at left a bit. "Painted in Spring" had nothing but a highlight dodge of the foreground flowers, because they were so small and needed to stand out more. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted November 1, 2008 It looks nicely balanced to me.... it's not what film or sensors would capture directly, but it is what the eye would likely see. I think your computer work is very subtle and appropriately applied. Plus, the elements add up to a great composition. Link to comment
nadya r. 0 Posted November 2, 2008 The composition is so well done that I'd like to see it as a b/w variant too. Did you do it in b/w? Link to comment

salvadelsaz 0 Posted November 2, 2008 Hi Marc, I'm not very active in photo.net because currently my 'war' is in another site. However I'm a fan on your landscape photography from a long time. Love how well this image is composed with these two trees on the right opening our view to the river stream and leading us until the snowed mountains. The mastering of light and color is fantastic. Thanks for sharing. Link to comment
