dandem 1 Posted November 1, 2008 This is so superb, Dick. Strong tones that work so well in b/w. The birds make for a very intersting add-on to the shot which compliments the tree perfectly. Excellent. Well done. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted November 1, 2008 Thank you, Lawrence! I put up the original color version of this, and today I decided to try it in black and white. I wanted to see what I could do with the clouds. I'm pleased that you like it. Your comments are valuable to me. Best regards, Dick Link to comment
dandem 1 Posted November 2, 2008 Hi Dick...had a look at the colour version - it's awesome, but I way prefer the b/w version as it is so dramatic. Regards, Lawrence. Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted November 2, 2008 I thought this was a waterfall, Dick, and prefer the vertical format for accentuating that impression. The birds: amazing! The B&W treatment is top notch, the picture a classic. I love it. Congratulations. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted November 2, 2008 Thanks for that second comment, Lawrence. Thank you so much, Tim! At the beginning of my time on PN, you advised me to take my camera with me, all of the time. I do that now, and I was able to get this shot of the oak tree, sky and birds while waiting to pick up my daughter from school...because I had my camera. I was looking up, framing the shot with the clouds, and the birds just burst off of the high school roof...that amazed me! With warm regards, Dick Link to comment
jmarcraveau 0 Posted November 3, 2008 Very nice image. The composition, the vertical framing and the B&W treatment are great. Regards, Jean-Marc Link to comment
