i think I prefer the Dejah version Kim. I like the expression, and the eyes, in that one best.

The other one is my favorite, too, Neil, but I thought I'd show she wasn't afraid of the photo shoot or anything by presenting a happier shot of her. Thanks for commenting, guys!

You have the key right, Kim. Light colored clothes with a light background.

 

I would try dodging the scleras, however. It would really brighten up her eyes.

Is this the kid named Deejah? I think you said that was her name. She is so beautiful! I prefer the single portrait over the sister group portrait personally, this one is so expressive!

They are cousins - Deejah is 2 and Kiana is 1. They were so adorable; I loved taking their pictures. Now I have some great backgrounds, so I hope I can get some new ones soon.

Then I was a little off... I thought they were sisters and that Deejah was the younger! She has a somewhat more childish look to her face, Kiana looks more solemn to me!

Apparently, they are normally the complete opposite - their grandma told me Deejah is usually very shy and probably wouldn't smile and Kiana always is smiling. She was very surprised I was able to get a smile out of Deejah and Kiana remained quite solemn. Grandma was a co-worker of mine, who wanted pictures of the girls before she moved back to Chicago.

Oh, well, that happens with children sometimes! All of a sudden, they act in unpredictable ways!
