I LOVE Halloween.

When I saw this party store, I figured there would be children nearby, and there were. They came running.

Like this girl.

It was a treat.

Kids RAN to the store to get their costumes, running as fast as they could.

It made for wonderful photos, if the photographer could prepare in time ;~))

Thanks for the smile.

Really humorous picture, very good timing, the character just behind the running girl tries to help her by pushing her back, the guy on the left tries to give her some balloons to make her fly and the all three supports her loudly:)) Clever work, congratulations, -wm

Enthusiastic and fun loving image...The girl may end up flying with those balloons coming out of her head...Well seen and captured...Marjorie

I suppose if you're gonna take a humorous Halloween photo it pays to post it Halloween Eve. I had taken it the day before, almost by accident. I just happened to drive by this obscure store, saw it, stopped when I saw bunting and these windows, and was soon rewarded.

I like the way you have made a story of the figures with the running girl -- it keeps with the theme exquisitely -- and integrates the background with the foreground - my whole purpose, of course.

Thanks for your comment -- it's also clever.

I had thought it just a trifle. Raters seem to like this one, a lot.

Who'd of thunk it?

Marjorie, you have made me smile.

I didn't see 'balloons out of her head, but now forever more when I look at this I'll see 'balloons out of her head', you spoiler you'. ;~))

Fabulous comment

I needn't say more.

Clever, and thank you.

Regards from cool Oregon.

People run in order to get their blood flowing, I think. but still wear short sleeves.

It's home of famous long distance runners. . . . they also were not smart enough to wear long sleeves, I think so they ran and ran and ran in the cold raininess, helped in the long past by University of Oregon legendary coach Bill Bowerman, who then founded Nike Corp. just to find better, lighter shoes for his runners.

The rest is history.

Are those Nikes she's wearing?

He made his first shoe soles on his home waffle iron.

Really.

He wanted 'em thin but strong and light so a miler wouldn't have to pick up so much weight over the course of a race.

She looks like for a costume she would easily run a mile like this, doesn't she?

What enthusiasm . . . and right in front of my camera where I was waiting in front of the most interesting window in town just before Halloween. Heh, Heh Heh

;~)))

Hi John love this picture,,sooooooo full of life ;) ,,is it from yesterday or today ? or is it a old picture ? and where is it from ? if i may ask such a question ,,hehehe

It's from day before yesterday.

She's running to choose her costume inside a costume shop -- this is the store front.

This is Portland, Oregon.

You are free to ask any question (I may refuse to answer or deflect any question, of course) ;~))

Thank you for the nice comment; I try to stay topical.

This photo was pure happenstance, I was 'just driving by' and saw the store windows, so I stopped and waited.

This is the result.

Hi John , thanks for the quick respons on my comment , I got intruduced to your work / pictures form a common friend of both of us ( Rita ) ,,,I have been going true all your pictures , I must say i really like them all and specially the ones from Ukraine..As i have traveled there my self a few times .Well why i asked such a " strange " question as i did about the where and when about the picture above , is that Rita told me she was going to London this week and next week with you .And i didnt think the picture looked like it was from London , hehehe ,,so that why i asked .well Maybe Rita know another American camera man named John , that she does work for. No big deal ,,dont worry i am NOT one of her overly jealous boyfriends . And once again thanks for all the nice pictures you post here , they are a great inspiration for me ;)

I leave Portland early -- almost immediately -- in just a few days.

European airlines are having fare sales unlike any others in the recent past, and I'm taking advantage.

You will have to direct any other question directly to Margarita Y.

She is on my list of wonderful people, and has been since I first met her as a potential model.

I would never think of interfering in her private affairs, as you might guess, if you know anything at all about our friendship. I am at a disadvantage since I am in the dark about your conversations or chats.

I admire her greatly as a friend . . . and would not venture to guess what she has said to others . . . . as I have NEVER pried into her personal affairs with others or her relations with others . . . not ever . . . nor would I consider doing so now.

Our friendship is on a different plane, entirely.

I always count it a good day whenever I see her . . . . and have never been disappointed by her sunny good cheer and her enormous intelligence.

I am sorry if this is a little obscure and does not answer your question or at least provide you with definitive information.

That is for you and M.Y. to discuss personally.

I am sure you understand.

My answer was purposely obscure, so don't read too much into it.

I do not tell every facet of my private life on Photo.net.

Certain parts are quite open; other parts are private and for me private is private.

Same with confidences and friendships. A confidence is a confidence -- the long-ago attorney in me respects a confidence given to me (I don't claim to have any by the way) so I don't open my mouth without thinking carefully, and a friendship is a friendship only if respected.

That being said, do NOT make any decisions based on what I have written -- absolutely none at all, not for any reason, purpose or in any way shape or form.

I hope that is clear amid the obfuscation.

You can turn to M. Y. for that, if you feel comfortable doing that.

My view of her is narrow; she comparmentalizes (just like Clinton did) and only reveals what she wants revealed -- a sign of cleverness (hitry), intelligence, and control.

And of course what now are becoming world famous good looks.

;~))

And as far as I know, a heart of gold, (but i'm no guarantor -- Ukraine is Ukraine, and it's a far different place than the West -- Ukrainians have their own 'rules' and 'sense of morality').

That's something to chew on, hunh?
