vandanabajikar 0 Posted October 30, 2008 My first HDR photo from Smokey Mountain. I enjoyed shooting water streams. Used ND4 filter with 3 exposures. White Balance on Shade to get warm colors along with fall color ambiance light. With Photomatix converted to HDR and with CS3 added border. All comments are welcome. Thanks, Vandana Link to comment
john van aarle 0 Posted October 31, 2008 Nice Job Vandana Excellent sharpness and lights My idea ..a little more ( maybe 2 photo's) of the waterfall and/or the landscape.. Photo looks a bit 'small' as if the waterfall is 'cut-off' .. I tried to enlarge ..size is not changing much.. a pity.. knowing you it must have been an awesome view there... Have more?? Curious Thanks W .. J T ps You are on in one of my Canada photo's Link to comment
vandanabajikar 0 Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks John, This is not from India, but Smokey Mountains here in Tenesse. This is HDR image and I do not upload more than 800 pixel width/hight, so might look small on your big wide screen. I've few more in my gallery and lot more photos to come, as not gone thru all my photos yet. Bye for now, Vandana Link to comment
john van aarle 0 Posted October 31, 2008 No Vandana.. do not get me wrong.. sure it is not India and not my wide screen,You managed to show a very nice scene! My simple point is ( and it has nothing to do with your good photo) the photo seem to end 'abrupt' on the bottom.Maybe fro a bit further downstream the total overview would have been more complete. The other photo's( the ones you emailed me) where all in perfect balance. Again, I love to see wath you did here , actualy I bought a magazine tonight about HDR photograpy and going to study hard on that. Looking forward to interact on line soon about the subject! Thanks again my dear .. a big Dutch flubber kiss and have a good sucsesfull evening collecting sweets as a dressed up 'Witch on a broom'' ( Halloween ) {^__^} John Link to comment
yannik_hay 1 Posted November 2, 2008 Hello Vandana, You did well for your first HDR photo. Do you know that you can merge HDR photos in Photoshop? Go to File, then Automate and Merge to HDR. Then you can make the minor adjustments that you want and you don't have to change photo editor programm. I like the slow motion water here and your pov. I agree with John that if you zoomed out a bit to enclose a bit more of the bottom of the fall, it would bring a bit more perspective. Also, I did a colour cast correction as I find it a bit brownish. Over all, a very nice autumn photo reflecting the beautiful mood. Cheers! Link to comment
