Sunset in Arizona

I tried cropping but like the space above and below. None of the

crops made me happy. The color is true to the slide but I did darken

the foreground.

I cropped off the bottom 40% of the black to limit the negative space and found the result to give more motion to the setting sun. That struck me as a bettor viewing experience.

 

My hunch from what you said about cropping is that you found the color so compelling that you felt there had to be a photo in it and forced the shot in spite of the composition. Just a guess.

I like the warm tones I guess what caught my eye was the red back light below the sun interesting effect, I like back lighting in an image but I have never been able to get that red effect below the sun like that... Nice.. MJ

Thanks - Actually I never noticed that... This is a slide shot many years ago... I didn't do anything to the image except clean up the blacks above the tree line on the left.
