lonebearimages 0 Posted October 30, 2008 This is a real treat to view; very Zen-like photograph. I wonder if you couldn't improve this already truly superb composition by cropping up from the bottom to just a hair below the small cluster of orange leaves next to wet, dark rock near bottom-center? Beautiful work. Cheers! Chris Link to comment

Jim_Dockery_Photos 2 Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for the nice comments everyone. It was a special evening by myself on the river and this shot expresses the quiet contemplative mood I was in. Chris, you might be right about cropping. I like the mossy rocks at the bottom, but a little tighter could be better. Here is the address of panorama in the same spot that I like better (Photonet won't accept such a larger version though). http://jimdockery.com/mountain/Landscape/Cascades/Granite.Falls/Below-GF-pano-2.jpg Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted November 1, 2008 Honestly, I like the crop just as it is. Brilliant color contrast, too. You've managed to make this intimate landscape both intimate and dramatic, all in the same package. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted November 1, 2008 I have to say, upon further reflection, I think the composition is just right as it is. I think John is right, the mossy rock and the rest of the sandy beach is important too. This really is wonderful; and I stand by my "Zen-like" assessment. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted November 19, 2008 Jim.... Absolutely beautiful shot... as an alternative to cropping, how about burning the highlights on everything on the beach just a tad... that would keep attention on the fabulous scene over and on the river... but if you do nothing, this is excellent...
