lonebearimages 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Wonderful point-of-view and composition; my eye just travels right up from bottom to top. Beautiful colors too. Thanks for sharing this with us. I hope all is well with you, my friend. Cheers! Chris Link to comment
color 3 Posted October 28, 2008 This is a pretty shot with a good amount of originality, but to me it's too "muddy". Link to comment

katzpjs 50 Posted November 2, 2008 Chris of SoCalif stated it better that I could have and also said all that I was seeing. However the scene is more into the dark side than I would like for such a shot. Pretty but could be better. Link to comment

jpo3136b 0 Posted November 4, 2008 I liked the way the curve of the tree trunk leads the eye in to the leaves in the foreground. Also, I felt that the foreshortening effects here contributed; it is as though this shot were taken with a wide angle lens, looking up; in this case, those effects contribute to the photo. For the "to improve" part of the critique: I would say that there is some loss of detail in areas where the tree leaves are near the sky; I think this is an exposure problem; I, too, have had this occur in my photographs. In black and white this would be easier to correct with exposure or contrast adjustments; I'm afraid I don't have a good, constructive recommendation for it here. However, I would recommend that if you do choose to modify exposure to sharpen up some of that leaf detail (I suspect that a decrease in light will bring some more of those leaves into focus), that those adjustments need to occur in a way that preserves the highlight and hue and shadow detail present in the moss. There are also some grayer areas in the farther foliage; I suspect this is part of an exposure adjustment problem; exposure is affecting aerial perspective. Overall, I feel the photo has such a strong composition in its main elements that as soon as I saw it, I wished I had done this or imitated it. Good work. J. Link to comment
thadley 14 Posted December 7, 2009 I like the composition and the colors so congrats are in order. I am thinking of a 3 exposure HDR but I suspect that would change all of the drama that this current image has. Link to comment
