GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted October 26, 2008 Had never used a Digital SLR, borrowed my Father's, he set it to AUTO & told me to "just TAKE pictures!"...experimented with the Composition.....any helpful hints would delight this 'first timer"! Link to comment
strohlm 0 Posted February 17, 2009 The different materials make this appealing to me. Thank you for the comment on my page. Mark Link to comment

s_williams 0 Posted May 17, 2009 Gail, I was touring through your very delightful and uplifting galleries when this image caught my eye! I really like how you've composed the door and included so many other materials and textures in the frame as well. This gives the door some actual context and a sense of history. It's a serious and playful image at the same time. Best regards, Stephen Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted May 18, 2009 Stephen....yours has to be one of the most encouraging critiques I have ever received.....especially when it is about this photo....It is one of the first ditital DSLR photos I have worked on and been very satisfied with....I took it with my Dad's E-1 Olympus while sharing a cruise with him and Mom.....I had never used the camera before....Dad put it in my hands .....and just said 'take pictures'...and this is one of hte best that turned out. Thankyou sincerely for your very kind and generous words about this photo....it has encouraged me more than you will ever know.....sincerely, Gail (PS....I am glad that you noticed my photo(s) for I have not yet seen your Portfolio and will enjoy viewing your images....sincerely...Gail) Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted May 18, 2009 Your share one of my 'joys' -- doorways and windows are my favorties...they always are an 'invitaiton' to imagine just what wonderful discoveries could lie behind them....however, I realize there will not always be pleasantness behind all doorways...but I'd like to be positive on the 'subject'....attractive, and/or interesting 'doorways' put a little 'spice' in our imaginations......and it is always good to keep that little corner of our brain's active.....many thanks for your kind words...sincerely, Gail Link to comment
vincenzo_corbo 0 Posted November 28, 2009 Nice composition and crisp detail. Even if seems to be a cloudy day colours are nice. The frame is original, maybe to wide, but the font add a sort of "antique" to the whole compo. Ciao, Vince Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted November 29, 2009 Thankyou very much Vince for your kind words re this shot...yes it was a cloudy (sun in, out) kind of day....The border was done especially for a 'client' that requested it...I've done this image many different ways....so nice to hear from you and I shall visit your portfolio more oftent o become better acquainted with it....Most sincerely, Gail Link to comment
