Guest Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Wonderful capture of nature at it's best! I hope you were at some distance. So sharp and clear. My camera would have been shaking. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 258 Posted October 26, 2008 Great capture with surprisingly good technical quality! I mean considering the supposed fact that it was taken from distance and a tele lens! PDE Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted October 26, 2008 Thanks everyone. I'm not sure on the exact distance, but it wasn't very much.....guessing 25 yards. I shot this at 170mm with a 100-400mm lens. There was a fair crop involved by the time I got done, but still 6.5mp left from the full 10mp...pretty much just off the sides. I guess if I ever get too interested I could do a setup using bear sized objects, those figures, and a tape measure. Link to comment
alight 0 Posted October 27, 2008 are they singing Carmen? Or is this the way bears do dentistry? Anyway, what I really like about this shot that it's a portrait and at the same time it shows the environment. Usually portrait photos filter out the environment. Here the DoF is perfect. The background is clearly distinguishable, yet it doesn't distract from the bears. Maybe the next time you could get some nice girls dance can-can just behind the bears to give it that inter-species musical feel. Cheers, Micheal Link to comment
cromwell1664877587 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Thanks, Michael. What a great idea with the can-can girls. You're right. It gives it a whole different feel and really livens it up. Now, if I can just find some willing girls next time. Link to comment
