mike_s85 0 Posted July 13, 2002 you got a nice motive here...but the photo lost its strength because the point of view is much too high and the angle between the horizont and the footprints is simply too large in my eyes. try to place the camera closer to the foot prints. more over some extra details would be great. go on, martin Link to comment
tonymarcello 0 Posted September 18, 2002 I took this originally because the setting sun was creating shadows in the waves of sand and bringing out the detail. I darkened teh sky and increased the contrast of the phot in PS. Let me know what you think. Sorry i havent been critquing photos recently. I was out of town. Tony Link to comment
rena tsiflidou 0 Posted September 18, 2002 It's a very interesting pic...a bit of weird feeling. I like it! Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted September 19, 2002 The chaotic nature of the footprints is what really makes this photograph work. You get such a feeling of coming and going in the foreground, while the background is the very picture of tranquility. Nicely done. Link to comment
kkwan 0 Posted September 20, 2002 Very cool. The black and white is perfect for the mood and I really like the texture in the sand. The light is nice too. I'd also prefer pristine sand with only one set of footprints but I know that's not possible. The even tone of the sky looks a little odd to me though. I'd try burning it in completely black for even more drama, or at least burn in a bit of a gradient. Well-done! Link to comment
chip l. 1 Posted September 20, 2002 Like the tones, though I would get rid of the top area. Maybe a sq. image.... Link to comment
stephen_lau1 0 Posted September 21, 2002 I like Chip's idea to get rid of the sky, which draws attention away from the footprints. If footprints are your main object, I will crop it a bit tighter to 'force' viewer's to look at nothing but the footprints. The cropped version does convey a completely different feeling than the original image though. I like the side lighting which enhance the texture of the sand and the footprints. Link to comment
