pietje 0 Posted October 22, 2008 realy a fine portrait , and very natural ; just enough PS to improve the photo without altering it or turning it in digital art. great use of the component light Piet Link to comment
diyarbakir1 0 Posted October 22, 2008 Perfect portrait. Very good composition and nice-soft colors... Also a good documentary.. But to me the angle to be some narrow.. Warm regards, my dear friend.. Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted October 22, 2008 Thank you all for your comments and rates. Some of them declare an appreciation and some of them tell me what I saw, thus reinforcing my idea of this type of documentary portrait. And I agree with you my friend Mehmet Masum, that the frame is not big enough. Unfortunately Kakou cut a finger on her left hand and she was wearing a plastic glove on that hand. I thought it would be rather confusing and unhygienic to see the other hand immersed in the milk and make us assume that she was wearing the same glove on that hand. However you have raised a very good point. This is the original J. peg. And I wish she was not wearing that plastic glove otherwise I would have left it whole. Link to comment

dgv 1 Posted October 22, 2008 Photi she makes the best halloumi cheese and anari which is a kind of ricotta, myzythra in mainland Greek. I hope she never hears of or abide by EEC regulations. There can be ecxeptions to every rule :). Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted October 22, 2008 Terry, thank you for that comment. When I saw her head dress and the little out house that she was in,the thought occurred to me, Vermeer in particular. A long shot anyway. Link to comment
carbonix 1 Posted October 23, 2008 Wonderful portrait Dimitris , I like the original version with bottom details to. Link to comment
tomadakis 0 Posted October 23, 2008 Dimitri, nice portrait! The original is also a great capture. I think that the big pot adds too much to be left out... The medical side of you is distracting the photographer when you are not holding the camera :o) ... This summer, I will have to look for Mrs Kakou, for her haloumi and anari! Link to comment
dgv 1 Posted October 23, 2008 If only she was not wearing that silly glove,Antoni and obviously I did not want to ask her to take it off and pose for a picture. Is not only her excellent cheese, she is also an amazing person. You are the third viewer to reiterate the same view and I hear you all loud and clear. I feel this is the main reason we are on PN. Thanks. Link to comment

karolostrivizas 2 Posted October 24, 2008 This is the kind of portrait I like most Dimitri. Great eye contact, unforced expression, precise exposure and really excellent natural facial tones. Definitely an outstanding character portrait. Please, if you have some time, have a look at some portraits of mine in this site : http://photopoints.com/main/photos/photographer.aspx?ID=15605 Link to comment
