Made in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This person is sleeping on the bench that surrounds the Temple of Dendur.

This is my first request for critique from a new folder I've posted.

I realized that most of the photographs I've made recently

were "safe", that is of objects or of people who expect me to be

making their picture. I pushed myself to make photos of strangers

without resorting to hiding behind things and using long lenses. I

was only a few feet from this person clearly photographing her in

this scene.

This is a great shot - I like the unposed shot and catching people as their true selves. This would not be nearly as appealing if it was in color - the black and white has personality here. I admire the courage it takes to go out and just take shots of people - I am a beginner and I don't know that I could do that. Keep that camera snapping.

Great idea; however, the blurred background is a lot distracting... IMHO, a sharp background would be better...

Great shot! It could do with a bit more contrast, though. Just enough to keep the 'soft' feel to it, but make it look less washed-out.
