Straight out of the camera and reduced for PN - just wondering if I should have increased the contrast or boosted the colors to make it more appealing. I was looking for something different from the Fall maple leaves and I found this with my 90 mm Macro shot hand held and fairly wide open. By focusing on something other than the leaves I thought it had a 'flower-like" appearance while trying to position myself to get an interesting background. I am a bit of a 'color junkie' so a variety of colors in the background was important to me.I will be submitting this for ratings and constructive input for two reasons: I want to share the image with a wider 'audience' (not sure if critique only does the trick) and as always I am looking on ways to improve my photography. Best Regards,

I was looking for something different re Fall maple leaves and decided

to try this macro approach that has a Flower-like composition. No

manipulation and wondering if i should have done some post-processing

on it to appeal to a wider audience. thanks for your input. 18:41

I have decided to increase contrast and reduce brightness in the revised image above. Would love hearing from you.

Thanks very much - we both have a macro lens and I decided to try it out for something different today. I will be uploading a couple more like this in the next few minutes. Hope all is well.

All is very well just busy working and going to college full time (graphic design). Still checking up on my pn friends though. Thanks for asking and hope all is well with you also.

Good luck with the graphics design - working and full time college must not be easy. Nursing some flu symptoms but nothing I can't handle. Based on your comment I decided to upload the 'enhanced version'.

Thanks for your very generous 7/7 rating. Much appreciated. I went to your site and followed one of your forum posts and found, like you, one of my PN photos was stolen and posted at the PIXDAUS site http://pixdaus.com/single.php?id=31344 without me giving permission. As long as we post images on the internet anyone can abscond with them. I participate at another site and it is not so easy to download or steal images so the answer to whether PN can help in this matter is "Yes".

Wonderful colors. I do like your revised version better. Regarding the Pixdaus issue, I followed your link to check out the situation. The person who posted your image also posts images of many others. I can't understand why? Although photogs are given credit at the bottom. I found a FAQ page and got this: "Q: I see here my photo but I didn't post it! How this could happen? Would you remove it?

A: Just send a removal notice to pixdaus@gmail.com and it would be removed. Sometimes people post things and don't know the exact copyrights, we ask not to do this and remove as soon as someone complains."

Christa, Sonali, William, Diego - input and ratings are much appreciated. Marc and William - I will take action as suggested on my pirated image "The heron".

I like the burst of colours in the bg, so sweet & perfect for your subject. I prefer the higher contrast version than enhance the colour element better.

Cool shot Tony. Think small in a big world and you have art. Well done.

All the best,

Neil

Wonderful image, Tony. It's subtle and elegant and just enough detail to entice me. I do not like the other one nearly as much. It seems too garish for me.

Neil: Eduard: thanks for your input. Liz I think you like the original posting because of the your romantic side - just a guess! (*_*). Just goes to prove with the two versions that not everyone likes the same thing - if that were to be the case, it would be a dull world. To everyone, your comments and ratings are appreciated.
