The 'bell staff' of a Ritzy Hotel in a major US city stands at curbside

waiting for new hotel guests to arrive with their baggage. Your ratings

and critiques are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very

critically, please submit a helpful and constructive comment; please

share your superior photographic knowledge to help improve my

This photo is a drive-by.

This is NOT where I stay.

Where I stay, there was a cockroach caught in the door lock when I went to check in, so I had to request a change of rooms, but unfortunately there were no rooms available to change, so, I had to stay in the cockroach room -- a special room reserved just for me.

;~))

It definitely was not 'The Pump Room'.

the composition is really nice, and the way you caught their attitudes and postures has immediately caught my eye with the help of the strong color theme. Thank you for sharing, Giuseppe

Can you believe I was just driving down the street, turned a corner, and saw these folks lined up like this.

I as in my car, shooting through an open window, across the passenger seat. Fired off about five shots, and then drove off.

Don't even know the name of the hotel, but it's in Chicago.

Thanks for the nice comment and for viewing.

John:

I agree with Giuseppe. The photograph effectively captures the personalities of these people. The color contrasts work nicely, as does the variety in texture.

Congratulations, especially for a "drive-by".

There are rather subtle differences between these identically-clad individuals, but they are there, and the photo does illustrate the differences as well as the same-ness.

Sometimes, when I walk or drive around I can hardly believe the variety of photo opportunities I see. This is one of them.

Thanks for the complimentary words.

Just look at the spacing between the individuals, the background and how they're framed.

One just had to point a camera at them and all is taken care of.

This was a photo that just had to be taken.

That's all.

When else do you see such an ideal layout on the street -- it looks just like a photo setup; from a pro photographer outdoors, making a shot for a hotel advertisement.

Total time invested in all captures -- about 30 seconds more or less.

John, I like this shot. Its interesting that they each have their own unique pose. I wonder how long they stand each day?

I am a silent admirer of your street B&W work. Cheers from down under. Mark

Hello to you and Oz.

I'm glad to learn I have a fan down under, and no longer so silent.

I have not the slightest idea how long they stand there like that -- just this one time, or all day. This was just a drive-by. I suppose as guests arrive, they just disappear into the large hotel, but what do I know? I'm just a photographer grabbing an instant.

I did see these folks outside and drove around the block and they were essentially unchanged in the interim.

I think it's good advertising, if nothing else, to say that 'staff is ready, willing and able. (I have no idea of name of hotel).

Best to you down under. Thanks for viewing my photos.
