Great shot Monte, I should have been out there on Friday, very sharp and high on detail. Do RTH ever eat other birds or they just eat only small mammals?

Mostly cottontails, squirrels, and gophers. They are opportunists,so they'll eat what they can catch. I've seen them eat pigeons, but they probably have trouble catching them, as they are not so swift as a peregrine.

Nice crisp image. How did you get close enough to him without flying off? The only thing I'd change is to remove those two staples on the fence post.

Very great shot .. Great clarity and expression from the Hawk .. Very intense eye's.. Great Job and congrats on what isn't just an everyday shot !! ........ Was this shot hand held tripod ?
