Spotted while on an outing to photograph some fall colours. Thought

this one might be better if flipped horizontally but decided to go with the

original. Your thoughts\critiques will be gratefully received. Best, LM.

I tried a mirrored version and liked it both ways, Len. It's remarkable that this garden appears still to be thriving; must be the climate change. :-)

One thing I noticed on my walks around for fall colors was the intensity of the reds, so saturated as though nature had Photoshopped it. My camera didn't have a chance of capturing the colors, but what's interesting is, had I attempted to replicate nature's colors, they'd all look fake as though excessively pumped with saturation. Have you had this experience?

Michael, Nice of you to stop by. Yes, the colours were more intese this year. Reds, oranges, yellows all seemed to 'pop'. I find I like the result when the yellow's satuation is bumped up 15% or 20%. Often gives a bit of a glow to them. Just have to be careful one doesn't over do it. Most of the work I post these days is from my wife's Point & Shoot Canon A540 though I still use my film cameras a fair amount. (Minolta XG-M's & Bronica SQ Ai) For photos to 12"x18" the p&s gives very satisfying results. And most of my work these days is printed 6x9 on 11x8.5 paper anyway. Don't be a stranger. Best, LM.
